Made from a single piece of Goldfields Walnut hardwood from a plantation in south-western Australia. These tapas boards are perfect for serving and sharing food. The leaf brand is depictive of the classic Australian eucalypt and highlighted with gold paint. Many of these boards contain an unusual zig zag line through the wood. We believe these may have been created from bark harvesting between about 1940 and 1960.
They're finished with food safe Tung Oil.
They're under-beveled to create an elegant floating aesthetic and for ease of carrying. The two holes in the back enable them to be hung on the wall as artwork when not in use. Explore our photo gallery product page to see them in use.
Please note: Board texture and leaf may vary slightly from the photos shown. Multiple images are given to indicate typical variance.
Our gold leaf boards are designed to handle a rougher treatment than the art boards. You can cut over the artwork but it will scratch more easily than the rest of the board as the branding does slightly soften the wood where it is applied.
We recommend refreshing your board with tung oil should it start to look dry after extensive use. It is available from most kitchen shops or your local hardware store. Grapeseed or coconut oil can be used instead, however, they are less penetrating.
To apply simply rub on with a sponge or clean cloth, leave for 5 minutes, then rub back vigorously with an absorbent cloth until all excess oil is removed.
