The Art of Rest - Group sessions online

The Art of Rest is a live online gathering designed to gently guide you back into rhythm. This is an invitation to slow down, listen, and reconnect with what truly nourishes you.

Each session weaves together mindful movement, restorative sequencing, breath, and quiet reflection to support your nervous system and create space for deep rest. Rather than simply relaxing, these sessions are an opportunity to cultivate awareness, restore balance, and develop simple practices that can be carried into everyday life.

Join live from wherever you are, or receive the recording afterwards if you’re unable to attend. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply longing for a regular space to pause, The Art of Rest offers a gentle return to steadiness, presence, and ease.

Five Week Intensive

The five week intensives provide a personalised space for deepening yoga practice and enquiry. Grounded in presence and shaped by individual needs, these sessions weave together movement, philosophy, and breath. Participants explore what it means to meet themselves with consistency and care, not to fix or improve but to listen more closely. This space offers rhythm and realignment, guided by steady support. Across five weeks with two sessions per week, participants move through a process of discovery, gently unravelling, integrating, and returning to what feels true.

Who the Intensive Is For

The intensive is designed for anyone interested in clearing the mind and understanding the functionality of the body. It is suitable for advanced practitioners, beginners, people with injuries, and teachers in their early years of teaching who wish to embody deeper aspects that may have been missed in initial training. It is also for those wanting to learn safe adjustment techniques, deepen pranayama practices, and gain greater control over their emotional space. This journey supports education towards a clearer, more conscious way of being.

The Philosophy and Embodiment

While not a psychotherapist, Sarmarie’s teaching deeply integrates the philosophy of yoga to enrich mental and emotional wellbeing. Drawing from ancient texts such as the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, she supports students to embody these teachings in practical ways that transform daily life. This philosophical foundation is a core thread woven throughout the intensive, bringing mind and body into deeper harmony.

Schedule: Two sessions per week, each 75–90 minutes

Inclusions: Personalised pranayama and meditation practice (audio recording) and snapshot videos highlighting alignment and potential areas for growth.

Three Month Leadership Program
$4,800.00

The Three-Month Mentorship is a personalised one-to-one experience for those wanting to work more deeply with Sarmarie over time.

Drawing from more than twenty years of study, teaching and lived experience, Sarmarie brings together Eastern philosophy, movement, breath, meditation, deep rest and embodied practice in a way that responds to the individual.

Rather than following a fixed method, the mentorship develops around you — where you are now, what you are exploring and what you would like to understand more deeply.

At the heart of the work is an understanding of two equally important aspects of being human: our capacity for strength and our capacity to soften.

This may mean working physically with strength, mobility, movement patterns and greater awareness of the body. At other times, the emphasis may move towards breath, meditation, restoration and learning how to genuinely settle and rest.

Eastern philosophy and self-enquiry are woven throughout the mentorship, bringing these ideas into practical conversations around how we live, how we use our energy, how we respond to pressure and change, and how we relate to ourselves and others.

What We May Explore

Depending on the individual, the mentorship can include:

●Movement, mobility and strength

●Understanding individual movement patterns

●Breath and pranayama

●Meditation

●Deep rest and restorative practices

●Eastern philosophy

●Embodied awareness

●Energy and attention

●Personal enquiry and reflection

●Practices and recordings to work with between sessions

The intention is not to fit you into a particular system, but to create a body of work that is relevant to you and can gradually become integrated into everyday life.

How It Works

The mentorship runs over three months, allowing enough time for consistency, observation and genuine integration.

Sessions are held privately with Sarmarie and can take place in person, online, or through a combination of both, depending on location and availability.

Alongside the sessions, personalised recordings, practices, reflections and short movement videos may be provided to support the work between meetings.

Experience

Sarmarie brings more than twenty years of experience across Eastern philosophy, movement, meditation, breath and embodied practice.

Her background includes extended periods of formal study and immersion in India, Australia and New Zealand. Over time, this experience has developed into an approach that is less concerned with following one particular method and more interested in understanding the person in front of her.

The Three-Month Mentorship offers the time and space to explore that work personally, progressively and in depth.

Sarmarie teaches yoga philosophy and movement with a rare combination of depth, precision, and grounded warmth. She moves between Australia and overseas , with online offerings shared globally. Her teaching is rooted in over twenty years of lived experience and long-term study. She has trained and lived in ashrams across India and New Zealand, with a foundation in Vedanta philosophy, Satyananda Yoga, and Mysore Ashtanga. This depth of lineage and learning informs everything she offers, alongside her own ongoing process of healing and unravelling through life.
